10 takeaways from Unleash…
1. It is possible to work hard for the Father and completely miss His heart. I must spend passionate, uninterrupted time with God. This is where my vision for ministry and life will comes from.
2. Vegas is willing to spend $7.4 billion on one building and the church fights over $50-$100 light bulbs. This might be why Vegas is booming and the church is on the decline. I must be willing to put up money, effort, and excellence towards the things I feel most called to.
3. Personal Preference vs. God’s Preference: I can’t allow my personal preference get in the way of God’s preference.
4. Anger: God might often be asking the question: “Can I trust you with a blessing?” This would be more of a test of my character.
5. I want to help churches find and practice sound, good accounting and executive principles. Without this, the church sabotages itself from its own God-given purpose and vision.
6. Dream big. Work hard. Trust more! Spend a lot! (Kid’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Greeters, Outreach, etc.)
7. Empower others to accomplish the visions that God is giving them. (Leaders in ministry, fellow pastors, my lead pastor)
8. Good leadership requires good follower-ship.
9. I am enjoying attempting a different style of Christian leadership. Also, I didn’t realize that I might miss my previous style of Christian leadership.
10. “Salty service” is less about a certain model or system and more about organic and interactive relationships between leader, volunteer, and those whom are served.
